Yup im a Saints fan always have been always will be.. My Dad is a Pompey fan grrr    Anyway about time that Southampton Football Club got their act together having been on the brink of administration. The good news is that its been taken over by Businessman Markus Liebherr a 61 year old  guy from Switzerland. Got to feel for Mark Wottee who has been the club manager over difficult times being given the elbow but i agree with the new policy of starting totally afresh and wiping the slate and therefore  building from a known platform and then …….move back to happier times in the Premiership! Yee haa!

This is the new shiny Blog theme and this is the first post so a bit of an experiment but im  learning…which is good.. Anyway this is Kai and Mum and her boyfriend Gunter all having a BBQ at ours with loads of pets wanting scraps and bones etc   Got to say thanks to Rob at Solent Studios a friend and professional Photographer in Hampshire who showed me this new Blog theme…Yamas!

Following on from Dougal wash comes Biscuit Wash! Biscuit really does not like the shower and afterwards goes mad with lots of shaking and barking all round, then off for a sulk on the sofa…. However she is lovely, white and fluffy and smells divine!  I have just found out from “Chris D” on the Dougal wash that Johnsons Baby Shampoo does the job so that will def save me a few Euros! I have also learnt not to cut the grass on Biscuit wash day as we have ended up with a green dog before now

This evening it was Dougal Wash Day! How she loved it! We don’t think Dougal has seen a shower since she arrived and considering her temperament she did very well. Now all lovely and fluffy and ready to find something to roll in on walkies tomorrow im sure. The dog shampoo cost near on 10 Euros in Carrefour and later on we will be using some more on Biscuit wash day

Now im not one to dislike Gods creatures, I don’t mind earwigs, ants, millipedes, snakes and the like but I have a thing about cockroaches.. I just don’t like them…. especially when they fly towards you or land on your back, or as per last night I hear a “thunk” on the bed sheets! Waking up to a new friend, antennas and all, looking up at me from the bed! Needless to say I went from being asleep to fully awake and spent the next ten minutes catching and throwing it out into the garden. Luckily these cockroaches are a seasonal thing and only seem to come in ones! I see about ten or so per year of this critter.. The fewer the better!

We visited Bennigans yesterday as its a new restaurant close to our shop. An American style franchise. I went for the  full rack of ribs and Kai had the Irish Burger. I chatted to the the manager Zacharias who informed me that everything bar the veg was imported from the states and i can definitely vouch for the ribs as they were excellent! The last time I had any thing similar I was “Down Town” San Francisco  so most definitely a restaurant I will re visit…. probably more than once

Yup im a middle aged olde git but i now have a Micro Brewery to give me Bitter in 3 weeks… just had to add water! Amazing! So not planning on doing much today…. a trip to Trachoni followed by a trip to Laneia to see new houses for the books then back home to see how the Beer is doing J  Here i am also sporting my new shirt and Quantum of Solace, the latest 007 film . So this afternoon im all set to cover myself in pets and watch a movie on the sofa! At the weekend im planning on visiting the Cavalier pub down town Limassol as its about time i saw the outside world of the tourist strip and compare beers of course! 

How do i know summer is here ? Well the three stooges took a dip this afternoon and the pic could make for an interesting caption competition . That combined with the multitude of grass seeds adorning their coats after afternoon walkies!

Here is Rhubarb hiding in a garden pot. She is our most intelligent cat and sometimes called “Rabbit Cat” or “Rabitto” , due to her dense Rabbit like fur. Anyway this pot is cool in the day time until its time to leave and do some more relaxing indoors or around the bird bath!   Also had to publish another Dougal Dog and adoptive son Custard picture, who are very close, and have an excellent friendship sleeping together! 

Here is Kai on a much needed sun time break this bank holiday weekend. Very lucky dogs here sunning it on sun loungers whilst every day i clean up after them… Why can’t dogs be like cats and do their business and take care of it :)  I did manage to demolish a 750 ltr bottle of Keo wine yesterday and Kai a medium bottle of Zivania or as i call it “Petrol” So headaches all round and back to the grindstone tomorrow.

Very sad week this week when Cow cat came in on her front legs , dragging her rear legs. Immediately off to the vet who said nothing was broken and upon surgery he reported that she had not been hit by a car but had been Kicked to Death, having the oily boot mark and damaged internal organs including a ruptured spleen. I know this is our neighbours who we have had run ins before about Animals and the like. The last time complaints were aired led to our Pets disappearing for good and whilst im advised to go to the Police again, I know in reality the pets would suffer once more and the risk of coming home to poisoned pets is just too great. Im also told that Cypriot Culture should be respected especially more so as a foreigner. I will not respect this culture in Cyprus and am so upset about the loss of yet another Pet. So many reports of poisonings and Pet death every day and still no concern at all. Don’t get me wrong there are many good things in Cyprus but Kicking pets to Death  is just sickening to the core, especially as this has been going on for years and nothing is done or can be done. Accept it or get your passport and go back to what ever country you came from ! If you don’t like it leave Cyprus is the standard answer.

 Cow Cat was a really loving animal always saying “hello” to everyone which proved her downfall and she will be sorely missed.  X x x .

This Easter has seen me eat a few chocolate eggs and do some relaxing in the garden. What i have noticed is that on some of the fruit trees we have, an apricot tree and a couple of peach trees that you can virtually see the fruit growing  day by day! We also have a lemon tree and an orange tree planted at the same time However the orange tree, to date,  has not given us a single orange! Despite compost, TLC and watering. Me thinks i will have a word with it and warn it that if no fruit comes this year then its compost time! Below is a comparison of Orange vss Lemon in our back garden.

Spring has arrived ! Finally … ! So now time to dust off the Harley ( Honda Dio ) Change the oil and spark plug put some petrol in and off to the back and beyond! Well the bakery as that’s as far as i like to go due to the other competitors on the roads. I do sometimes trek further to the office down town Limassol . You really do need eyes in the back of your head when venturing out!

No, not the “Herbal” variety nor Bill and Ben.. for those who remember Its that time of year ,as the second Easter approaches, tis time to don my garden attire and do some weeding. There was a time when round up (weed killer) came to the fore ,but due to the in house zoo its done by hand, shovel, fork and a few swear words at the stubborn ones! Time also to get the pool ready , chlorinate and PH levels and all that However the pool has been  Dougal tested and passed so im good to go ….when it gets to 29 Deg C + …
